Top Notch Software Engineer Wanted

As I mentioned earlier, I'm looking for that one awesome software engineer that can help me build out out a social-netorking site. But not just any old social networking site...this idea is has HUGE potential. I'll say that it beats the pants of the MySpaces and FaceBooks of the world in several ways:

--quality level and usefulness of the content
--interactivity and virality of community

The few who have reviewed the business plan agree that this idea is sound and has a chance to become something very, very big. If you're interested in helping me execute the vision, please give me a shout (and send along a resume).

Here's a snapshot of the job description:

Your personality includes:
· Demonstrated passion for building software that change people’s lives
· Creative problem solver who knows how to apply software and technology to solve problems and add value to consumers
· Super Smart technical and business thinker
· Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environment where business needs are constantly changing

Your technical skills and experience include:

· 5-7 years of software and web application development using scripting languages such as PHP, Perl, or Ruby
· Experience designing, building, and optimizing a database-driven web site
· Experience creating Ajax-style web sites using JavaScript
· Extensive knowledge of and experience with a compiled language such as C++ or Java
· Broad knowledge of network setup/administration
· Ability to select and setup basic hardware

Your prior life ideally includes:

· Experience in building social networking applications
· Work at a small startup where you were the technical “jack of all trades”

The startup will be located in Seattle (eastside) and this senior software developer will take a significant equity stake in the company. Ideally, the candidate will be locally based in Seattle.

The venture is self funded from founder and founder’s family/friends which will take the company at least to beta site launch.

Hey Dan...I found your blog through Jeff Barr's link post. I've added you to my daily reads. I've also forwarded your "engineer wanted" post on to a close friend.
